Applications sought for the Glyn Evan Award
The Society recognized the huge contribution Prof Glyn
Evans made to the BSMM and mycology by providing
an award to members to provide financial support to
visit another laboratory for a period of training, usually
to learn a specific technique. The Award contributes
towards the costs of travel, accommodation and directly
related expenses.
There are no set application deadlines for this award.
And applications may be submitted for consideration at
any time. An award will not usually be made if the
applicant has received a previous award (Travel Grant
or Glyn Evans Award) less than three years before the
application date. Guidelines and application forms are available on the Grants page.
BSMM course in Diagnostic Medical Mycology 2012
Registration is NOW OPEN for the Diagnostic Medical Mycology course, which will take place in Leeds on March 19-23 2012. This course only runs on alternating years, the next course is 2012. Please e-mail Dr Ruth Ashbee, H.R.Ashbee@leeds.ac.uk for information on how to register.
Zygomycosis registry
Prof. Petrikkos, the international co-ordinator of the ECMM/ISHAM Working Group on Zygomycosis, would like to inform you about the global registry at the address www.zygomyco.net where cases of zygomycosis from all over the world can be submitted.
48th Annual Meeting of the BSMM
The 2012 meeting will take place April 29 - May 1 in Cardiff at the Mercure Holland House Hotel. The local organiser is Dr Rosemary Barnes (barnesra@Cardiff.ac.uk). The programme is available here. The ISHAM Young Investigator Awards
The International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), the German Speaking Mycological Society (DMykG) and the DMykG foundation for Research in Mycology are pleased to announce two unrestricted awards:

[2] “The ISHAM Young Investigator Award in Clinical Mycology”
